3SGTE wiring failsafes
Hi anyone any experience on wiring in the failsafes on an MR2 particularly a rev 2 turbo?
See below link for ecu pinouts JDM rev 2 turbo http://www.shoarmateam.nl/content/3s...ne-ecu-layout/ Thanks! |

Re: 3SGTE wiring failsafes
need to cut boost control valve wire to the VSV. Then splice in the white (ECU side) and brown (VSV side) of the GREY harness..

Re: 3SGTE wiring failsafes
thanks Richard
i should have mentioned i have a 'Greddy profec B spec 2' boost controller this should still be ok? regarding the ECU connections i'd like the map sensor to control the water feed so i just splice in the blue wire (grey RJ48) to the PIM wire for this signal? i have a 3.5 bar map sensor do i have to connect the injector feed wires? i would like to if it adds to the information needed for a better water supply. can you point out which wires from the diagram below? thanks for your help |

Re: 3SGTE wiring failsafes
The factory default of the HFS3 is 79% IDC and 30% boost. We believe this is the most ideal set up, true to engine load.
If you wish to control flow based on boost only, you need to cut IDC and solder link MPS on the underside of the circuit board. see page 20.4. This assumed you have wired up the map sensor signal to the blue wire of the grey harness and red wire to furl injector (+).

Re: 3SGTE wiring failsafes
feckin photobucket cant share pics anymore.
see attached ecu pinout. i would like to proceed as you suggested with the boost and duty cycle can you please point out the IDC pins from the ECU? thanks |

Quote:
according to the relay switching table attached (DHB unlinked default) failsafe is 'always on white - brown' until activation then 'white - black'. can black be left unconnected to not ground but just break connection? this would save setting up a relay. have you had a chance to look at the ECU pinout for the IDC? i need to clarify which pins i connect to (single injector, distributor, igniter) and which would be negative / positive. is it a pulsed negative and constant positive? thanks |

Re: 3SGTE wiring failsafes
ok this is my plan:
4 way connector: red - fused - switched positive (red lights ignition) black - ground white - ground purple - lights all at fuse box in engine bay. ECU Grey RJ48 Connector: red - to IGT (Igniter) switched positive (red lights ignition) green - to #1 (Injector) pulsed ground (hopefully, will check with multimeter) blue - to PIM (Map sensor) 0-5v signal wire. these wires are just joined 'Y' failsafe: cut TPS wire (turbocharging pressure VSV): white - to ECU side brown - VSV side all these directly from ECU. mounting HSF ECU alongside i am hoping for 300 - 310 RWHP when i get dynoed. i am using a single 0.7 jet after the intercooler. i need to solder link 1 & 2 in the flow map table. |
